About the Project
Chilevision is continually releasing new TV shows and needs to create new web pages for each of them. The content of these pages is not always the same, as it varies depending on each type of show. The content team at Chilevision needed a way to create these pages faster, without requiring assistance from the technical and design teams.
The channel also decided to incorporate a new platform to manage their video assets, so the CMS had to be integrated with it to send the uploaded videos to this platform, and for the site to retrieve them to show them to users.
How we worked
AltaVoz participated in a week-long workshop with the team at Chilevision to define a modular design for the website. The resulting system allows editors to create new pages in the CMS using pre-built modules. The editor chooses which modules they want to use, and the order in which the modules must appear on the page. Then, the editor must decide what content goes on each of these modules, selecting specific articles or adding them automatically from content categories, tags, and other classifying information.
A few color palettes are provided to choose from when creating a new page. This way, any time there is a new show to be released, the team at Chilevision can create a dedicated page in just a few steps, ensuring it will work correctly and look good.
The design is wholly responsive. Each module adapts to different screen sizes and they don’t interfere with each other.
Video platform integration
Prontus CMS was also integrated with the video platform used by Chilevision. The goal was to have the editors interact only with the CMS, and not burden them with accessing different platforms. This way, the editor uploads the video using the CMS. Then, Prontus connects with the video platform, sending the video there along with some metadata. Prontus also retrieves an ID to get the file afterward, so it can be shown to the users on the website.
